2項演算 binary operation

集合$A$に対して,$A \times A$から$A$への写像を$A$の2項演算（binary operation）といいます.

通常,演算と言うときには2項演算を指します.

なお,$A \times A$は,$A$の直積（Cartesian product, direct product）のことで,\[A \times B =\{(a,b)|a \in A,b \in B\}\]を意味します.
